NEC e525 Overview
Release Date: The NEC e525 was announced in 2003.
Network and Connectivity: The phone supports GSM technology with 2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900. It has GPRS Class 8 for data connectivity but lacks EDGE. It features an infrared port for local data transfer.
Design and Body: With dimensions of 101 x 48 x 24 mm and a weight of 110 g, the NEC e525 is compact and lightweight. It uses a Mini-SIM card.
Display: The phone features a TFT display with 65K colors. The main display has a resolution of 162 x 216 pixels with a 4:3 aspect ratio, and there’s a secondary LCD with 4096 colors and a resolution of 80 x 108 pixels.
Memory: The phone does not have a card slot for external memory. It comes with 1MB of internal memory. The phonebook can store up to 500 contacts with 8 fields each, along with photo call functionality. It can also store 20 dialed, received, and missed calls.
Camera: The NEC e525 features a single CIF resolution camera. It does not support video recording.
Sound: The phone does not have a loudspeaker but supports vibration and downloadable polyphonic ringtones.
Communications: The e525 does not support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or radio. However, it does have an infrared port for data transfer.
Features: Messaging options include SMS, MMS, and Email. It has a WAP 1.2.1 browser and supports Java for running applications and games. Other features include a clock, alarm, voice memo, organizer functions, and different profiles. The phone also supports predictive text input.
Battery: Powered by a removable Li-Ion 800 mAh battery, the e525 offers up to 200 hours of standby time and up to 3 hours and 20 minutes of talk time.
Color Options: The NEC e525 comes in Silver.
